Troy Warshaw is an American Software Engineer and United States Army Veteran.

He has a wide variety of interests, but he particularly loves to learn about developments in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, cybersecurity, computer vision, and robotics.

He is currently working as a Full Stack Software Engineer for MSPCFO, a financial data analytics platform. Outside of his profession, he is constantly developing other projects to continue building upon his ever-growing skill set. In his free time away from coding and technology pursuits, Troy also enjoys engaging in photo and video editing, computer graphics and animation, web design, watching movies, working out, playing chess, and various outdoor activities when the opportunity presents itself (hiking, camping, rock climbing, SCUBA diving, and skydiving).

Over time, he'll be posting the projects he works on. He is always open to feedback no matter what it may be, so if you see a way he can improve his algorithms, logic, etc., then please send a note!

Lastly, he'd love to help contribute to any open-source software that you have or may know of! Send any relevant details to his email linked at the top of the page.

Troy's professional experience began in June 2016 when he enlisted in the US Army as an Airborne Infantryman. During his time with 1st Battalion, 173rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne) in Vicenza, Italy, he fulfilled the roles of rifleman, squad automatic rifleman, machine gunner, platoon radio-telephone operator, and fire team leader. While executing his duties as a part of his platoon's weapons squad, he played an instrumental part in his squad's creation of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for weapons squads through all of 1st Battalion as they were the leading squad within the organization at the time. Troy received two Army Achievement Medals throughout his time serving with Bravo Company, 1-503--most notably, one of the AAMs he received was for the simultaneous execution of his duties as a Fire Team Leader and as a Platoon RTO during an 8-week training rotation in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve.

Following his time as an active duty enlisted soldier, Troy attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, where, although it is primarily an academic institution, he was able to exercise the leadership experience he gained as a soldier and also gain new leadership experience by providing purpose, direction, and motivation to his fellow Cadets. Beginning with his time at the USMA Preparatory School, he served as Charlie Company's First Sergeant where he oversaw the health, welfare, and training of over 70 Cadet Candidates. Then, as a Plebe Cadet at West Point proper, Troy led his peers in the various field exercises they had to execute during Cadet Basic Training where he utilized and shared the knowledge and experience he gained as a Sky Soldier with the 173rd. Additionally, during the academic year as a Plebe, Troy co-founded USMA Gray, the Academy's leading organization within the Corps of Cadets for developing the skillset and knowledge base needed for contemporary conflicts by America's warfighters. Troy continued to serve and lead his peers during Cadet Field Training the following summer as a Yearling Cadet prior to his leaving the Academy for Columbia.

During Troy's time at Columbia, he's worked a few jobs. He enjoyed developing his interpersonal skills working as a bartender; however, most notably, Troy began working as a Full Stack Software Engineer for MSPCFO while completing his degree at Columbia.

  • Demonstrated adaptive leadership, simultaneously fulfilling the roles and responsibilities of the Platoon Radio-Telephone Operator and Fire Team Leader.
  • Managed highly sensitive communications equipment during the execution of missions across 9 countries in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve.

Troy graduated from University High School in Orange City, Florida, where his love for technology first began when he started to teach himself programming in Python. Following high school, he then began his active duty service in the United States Army where he had the opportunity to build his Battalion's SharePoint site--a resource for soldiers within the battalion to use for studying battalion tactics and SOPs.

Two years into his career, he applied for and earned an appointment at the United States Military Academy at West Point where he did his first year at the USMA Preparatory School and then did a second year at West Point proper as a Plebe. It was there that he continued to pursue strengthening his skillset by engaging with more Python programming.

Following careful consideration for a multitude of reasons, he transferred from West Point to pursue a Bachelor's in Computer Science at Columbia University in the City of New York. This was where Troy's passion for science and technology really began to flourish. His final semester at the university gave him the privilege of getting his hands dirty with building projects in computer vision, pixel processing, computer graphics, artificial intelligence, databases, and computer networks--all of which remain topics he aims to master over the course of his lifetime.

He graduated from Columbia's School of General Studies in December 2023.
